Jeremy Hunt has enforced that electric car owners will now have to pay road tax to fill the £54 billion gap in the country’s finances. The Chancellor is set to announce the changes on Thursday.
CEO of the Institute of the Motor Industry, Steve Nash said, “The news reported at the end of last week that the Treasury plans to add vehicle excise duty to electric cars is not surprising to most in the industry.”
