The cost of living crisis is causing household bills such as electric and gas to increase. There have been worries about the running costs of the electric and hybrid vehicles. In some cases, it has been proven that electric vehicles are actually more expensive than Petrol/Diesel vehicles have been recently.

The increase in price is expected to be temporary however, this could lead well into 2024 causing more and more individuals to delay their purchase of an electric/hybrid vehicles.

Comparing the rates from this year to 2 years ago in 2020, there has been a significant increase in the price to run an electric vehicle.

2020: Charging Tesla Model 3 = £12

2022: Charging Tesla Model 3 = £25.51

This is based off the same mileage of 285 miles. In 2 years, there is a £13.51 difference of how much it is costing to charge up the well known electric vehicle, Tesla Model 3.
